Erik ten Hag has targeted a striker and a midfielder in order to maintain the pace of what appears to be a successful season.
Erik ten Hag wants at least two key acquisitions this summer to keep Manchester United on track for next season.
United’s decision-makers have prioritized a new goalkeeper, and Ten Hag is also pushing for a midfield reinforcement. If captain Harry Maguire leaves, United may want to add a centre-back to their squad.
- According to the Manchester Evening News, United have produced a list of players they are willing to sell, and club officials are planning for more outgoings than incomings ahead of next season.
A sources, any player sales would fund a planned transfer for a midfielderFrenkie de Jong again due to Barcelona’s continuous financial problems, and the United boss would support a move for Jude Bellingham if the Borussia Dortmund midfielder is interested in joining United.
United have shown an interest in Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen and have long admired Tottenham talisman Harry Kane. Ten Hag is a fan of Benfica and Portugal striker Goncalo Ramos and feels Ajax forward Mohamed Kudus has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League.
United intends to sell players such as Maguire, Anthony Martial, and Alex Telles. Club captain Maguire has only started nine times for United this season and the frail Martial has missed 28 of United’s 40 matches.

Maguire stated after the League Cup final victory over Newcastle that Ten Hag believes in him. “The players that are playing and beginning, Rapha (Varane) is playing extremely well and we have seen his ideas, the manager, what he wants, and he does want a left-footed centre-back playing. So, no, there is a lot of rivalry for spots.. We want to win trophies, and big trophies and to do that you need competition for places and the manager speaks to me daily and he really respects me and believes that I am a top centre half with all the attributes to play in his team.
“But he also recognizes that the players on the field – and I recognize that the players on the field – are performing admirably.”
Telles, who is on loan at Sevilla, returned from a two-month injury layoff earlier this month and has been surplus at United since the signing of fellow left-back Tyrell Malacia in July.
On Sunday, United ended a trophy drought that had lasted nearly six years, and they are still competing in three more competitions. United are third in the Premier League table, will host West Ham in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday night, and will face Real Betis in the Europa League round of 16 the following week.
