A few Nigerian football stars who played in the top five European leagues — Serie A, Bundesliga, and the Premier League, have been relegated to the second division.
Unfortunately, the majority of the international stars are members of Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, which has recently failed to live up to its name and soar like the bird after which it is named.
The names of the eight players who have been relegated are listed below.

Southampton Fc:
Southampton’s Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu also suffered relegation, with Onuachu failing to score or provide an assist in his 11 appearances after joining Southampton on a January transfer window this year 2023 from Genk fc.
ITALY SERIE A:
Cyriel Dessers of Cremonese, who scored six goals and provided two assists in 26 games, was also relegated from Serie A.
David Okereke, another Nigerian talent, was relegated with Cremonese after scoring seven goals in 32 appearances.
